Celebrity chef Nigella Lawson and her husband Charles Saatchi have finally managed to sell the Belgravia apartment they vacated two years ago following a dispute with neighbours over scaffolding.

And if that wasn’t bad enough, they’ve now had to knock off more than £11m from their original asking price of £36m.

So who got the bargain? None other than the Candy Brothers, property tycoons of One Hyde Park fame.

Despite dropping the asking price, the couple bought the house for just £3.8m in 2001, netting them a cool £21m profit on the sale.

Since then they’ve moved to a new home in Chelsea where they reportedly spent £100,000 just to move their art collection.

The home boasts seven bedrooms, a wine cellar, a gym and an underground swimming pool. They’ve also reportedly spent £500,000 renovating the kitchen which is used as a television studio for Lawson’s cookery programmes.

Lawson made her fortune thanks to sales of her 2000 bestseller How To Be A Domestic Goddess, sales from that book and others have surpassed three million copies. Saatchi on the other hand, made his fortune in advertising after founding the Saatchi & Saatchi agency with his brother Maurice in 1976.

Last month, he revealed in a book that he enjoyed having his wife “coveted” by other men.

He wrote: “Who would want to be married to someone who nobody coveted?”
