Canary Wharf Group, one of London’s leading developers, has announced an exclusive agreement with luxury fitness lifestyle brand Third Space to open a 40,000 sq. ft. premium health club in Wood Wharf. The state-of-the-art space will be open to new members and will also include an 8,000 sq. ft. area exclusively for residents – the first combined offering of its kind in London.

Residents will get the best of both worlds, a vibrant world class club complete with an extensive Group Exercise Class offering and industry leading Personal Trainers, as well as their own private training area, spa, hydrotherapy pool and lounge.

Situated within the Allies and Morrison-designed 15 Water Street, the Third Space private residents’ area will be available to purchasers at 10 Park Drive.

Set to open in 2021, Third Space Wood Wharf is being designed by the award-winning architecture practice, RHE. The main 32,000 sq. ft. space will feature a freestanding athletic rig, multi-purpose studios, medical and beauty suite, 20-metre swimming pool, and spa complex.

Brian De’ath, head of residential sales at Canary Wharf Group said, “To be able to offer our residents at 10 Park Drive a private fitness space provided by an operator of the calibre of Third Space is a real coup for us. We want to create a lifestyle here that matches the quality of our residential offering and this is the perfect partnership.”

Colin Waggett, CEO of Third Space said, “Place-making developers such as Canary Wharf clearly recognise that Third Space’s unique and tailored proposition can differentiate and add value to their developments. We’re excited also to provide our first private residents’ space, which will have its own feel and layout to the main club. Residents will be able to experience everything a Third Space club has to offer, as well as a private sanctuary for relaxation.

“Every Third Space club is unique. Despite being only a short walk from our existing 100,000 sq. ft. Canary Wharf club, Third Space Wood Wharf will look and feel very different. The scale and quality of the new district and the continued growth of the whole Canary Wharf Estate gives us the confidence to deliver a new and exciting fitness hub for this thriving area of London.”

Established in 2001, Third Space operates a portfolio of clubs in iconic locations across London, including Canary Wharf, Tower Bridge, Soho, Marylebone, and Tower Hill, with a sixth location due to open in Islington in early 2019.

Set to complete in 2019, 10 Park Drive will be home to 345 residents, occupying 74 studios, 115 one-bedroom apartments, 141 two-bedroom apartments and 15 three-bedroom apartments. Launched onto the market in July 2015, the development has been hugely sought-after, with over 60 buyers camping overnight ahead of the first day of sales. To date 275 units (80%) have been sold, with the remainder not set to be made available until closer to final completion.

Situated adjacent to South Dock, linked to the water by exquisitely landscaped gardens and parks, 10 Park Drive will be one of the first residential developments in Wood Wharf, London’s newest district. The 23-acre area is an exciting new expansion into reclaimed land by Canary Wharf Group.
