Billionaire’s £300m Mayfair art & property exhibition

Showcasing works by Hirst, Rodin and Glenn Brown amongst others, the ‘Sobha and the Masters of Art’ exhibition is one of the most dynamic exhibitions of Modern and Contemporary Art held in London this year, including extremely rare pieces, opened today at the Sobha Global Studio at 92 Park Lane, Mayfair, coinciding with Frieze London.Curated by Victoria Golembiovskaya of House of the Nobleman, in association with Alon Zakaim of Alon Zakaim Fine Art, the exhibition is supported by Sobha Realty, the luxury property developer.  The multi-million-pound exhibition features iconic art works from highly acclaimed artists including Damien Hirst, August Rodin, Glenn Brown, Robert Marc, Alexander Calder, Giacomo Balla, Eileen Agar, Natalia Goncharova and Arman to name a few, and is open daily to the general public, VIP guests and art buyers/dealers up until 22 November 2019.

Estève – Le BoischautThe exhibition’s private view and cocktail party was hosted by P.N.C. Menon, Founder & Chairman of Sobha Realty, who welcomed Guest-of-Honour Gopichand Hinduja, co-Chairman of the Hinduja Group, and over 280 VIP guests from the worlds of art, property, luxury and media to the spectacular art exhibition on Park Lane. Held alongside the opening of the art exhibition was the international launch of Creek Vistas Reservé, a new 33 story tower at Sobha Hartland which will provide 750 stylish apartments with unparalleled views over Dubai, with prices starting from £181,780 for a one-bedroom apartment.

PNC Menon & Gopichand Hinduja greet guestsOver 60 art works from world-renowned artists including paintings, sculptures and gouaches have been sourced from private art collections from Japan, France, Manhattan, Lisbon and Madrid, alongside London collections and pieces from Alon Zakaim Fine Art, with the sourcing of works and exhibition planning taking over six months.The artists featured are highly celebrated pioneers of different techniques and movements throughout the history of Modern and Contemporary art. The themes throughout the exhibition are varied and include a focus on Abstraction, colour experimentation and Pop Art, with each artist chosen for their innovation.

Damien Hirst – Spin for Ben

One of the most notable pieces on display is Spin for Ben by Damien Hirst (2010), a vibrant spin painting on paper which was commissioned by Ben Kealey, the synth and keyboard player for British rock band Kasabian. The bright colours have been inspired by Kasabian’s electronic vibes and is part of Hirst’s ongoing experimentation’s with the spin painting technique.Another “must see” work on display is an early piece by contemporary British artist Glenn Brown called Dead Relatives, an intricately painted composition created in 1995 based on Frank Auerbach’s iconic paintings after Juliet Yardley Mills.

Barye – Tigre Saissant un PaonKey pieces include a nineteenth-century Bronze sculpture by Auguste Rodin; an oil painting by French cubist André Lhote; paper works by Futurism artist Giacomo Balla; paintings by female Surrealist artist Eileen Agar; paintings by Natalia Gonchorova following the recent successful retrospective of her works at Tate Modern; as well as an ink work by Victor Vasarely. The collection of art works is striking and visually stimulating, with VIP guests booked in to attend the exhibition including international art buyers flying in to London especially to view the works.Patron Sobha Realty decided to host the fantastic Masters of Art exhibition following their highly successful Dali Art & Sculpture exhibition in September, which saw over 80 rare Dali bronzes and paper works displayed in the Studio.  The Studio on Park Lane is a key marketing platform for the developer, as following the Studio’s launch in May the developer has sold over £20m worth of luxury property in Dubai to UK buyers, with these deals done from the Park Lane marketing space, the properties include villas and apartments perfect for displaying artwork.  

Michelangelo -(marble)Alongside the famed art works there is also a series of beautiful bespoke scale-models of the villas, Garden Houses and apartments at Sobha Hartland, which have been installed on the upper mezzanine level of the Sobha Global Studio, allowing visitors to better understand the premium products built by Sobha Realty.Creek Vistas Reservé is a striking L-shaped residential tower with a 33 storey main facade and 22 storey side wing, with expanses of floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies on every apartment floor and offering views of Downtown Dubai from one side and Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary from the other.

Anastasia Dolgopolova from House of the Nobleman will be acting as Resident Art Curator during the Masters of Art exhibition and will be available on a daily basis to show visitors around the installation and discuss each of the art pieces on display.The Masters of Art exhibition will be open daily, from 10am to 5:30pm weekdays, with viewings by prior appointment on Saturdays and Sundays. The art and sculptures in the Mayfair exhibition are priced from £20,000 to £2m (available to purchase post-exhibition, by separate negotiation).Prices at Sobha Hartland start from £170,800 for a one bedroom apartment. Larger villas and townhouses ideal for displaying artwork include the London-inspired Hartland Garden Houses (starting from £1.1m), the Gardenia Villas (starting from £1.6m) and the Forest Villas (starting from £3.31m).
