The most popular properties for sale in Britain revealed

Britain is a nation obsessed with property porn, with many of us lusting over palatial homes with grand staircases, gigantic pools and cinema rooms among other bells and whistles.

But which British properties were the most popular this year, Rightmove has done a list – take a look:

 

1. 7-bedroom detached home in Hampstead

Pricetag: £46m

This seven-bedroom luxury home is the second most expensive home listed on Rightmove after One Hyde Park but it was the most viewed on Rightmove in 2015. Pricetag? A cool £46m.

Forget the swimming pool and the four reception rooms this home offers, the USP of this mansion is obviously the kid’s slide alongside the huge stairway into the garden.

 

2. 11-bedroom detached house in Cheshire

Pricetag: Only on application

From Wayne Rooney to Katie Price to Peter Crouch, a lot of celebrities have visited this house. Why? It’s the former home of Dawn Ward, an interior designer to the stars.

Billed as one of the most prestigious houses in Cheshire, the price of this home is revealed only on application.

 

3. 9-bedroom home in Hampstead

Pricetag: £32m

Another Hampstead gem, this nine-bedroom detached house could be yours for £32m. Situated bang opposite Hampstead Golf Course, the mansion includes an extensive leisure complex with Hammam massage, a swimming pool, a gymnasium and a cinema complex.

 

4. 6-bedroom detached home in Nottingham

Pricetag: £500,000

A six-bedroom London home for £500,000 in today’s times would be an anomaly. For that you’ve got to move to Nottingham. And if you do, check out this six-bedroom detached home where the bathroom is the size of your average London bedroom.

Pricetag: £19.7m

Spend £19.7m on this Surrey home and you could have your own version of Buckingham Palace (well, sort of).
