A six-bedroom Mayfair home has been snapped by an anonymous buyer for ‘just’ £39m afterhaving £11m knocked off the asking price.
The home, which was on the market for two years, comes with a swimming pool, steam room and cinema with whisky bar.
Including fees and stamp duty the total cost of the house will be closer to £45m.
The house, which was originally built in 1757, was originally being marketed £50m two years ago. However the slump in the luxury property market after the Brexit vote led to the price being lowered.
According to documents filed with the Land Registry the property was acquired by a British Virgin Islands-registered company for £38.8m at the start of November.
