In one of the most expensive publically sold properties this year, a One Hyde Park flat has been snapped up for £27m by an unknown buyer.

The five-bedroom apartment was sold by estate agents John Taylor after a bidding battle.

David Adams, managing director of John Taylor, told the Daily Mail: “It is a five bedroom apartment with panoramic views of Hyde Park.

“It was the first flat to come up for sale on the park side and is the ultimate address to have in Knightsbridge.

“We had two people bidding for it including a local client and it has achieved a very reasonable price. It is one of the highest priced apartments sold publicly this year.”

The flat, which is 165 times the average home price in England, comes with a floor space of 9,000 square foot and is on the 8th floor of the building.

Designed by the Candy brothers, the building is billed as one of the world’s most-exclusive addresses with residents having access to a private swimming pool, cinema, gym and spa.

The building has 86 homes and a Rolex and McLaren Automotive showroom on the ground floors.
