Forget Burj Khalifa! This $1bn tower is set to be the world's TALLEST skyscraper

Dubai developers are planning to build a skyscraper to dwarf the Burj Khalifa, the tallest skyscraper in the world.

Dubai-based Emaar Properties is planning to build a $1bn tower with rotating balconies and hanging gardens.

The skyscraper, which hasnโ€™t been named yet, is expected to be completed in time for Dubaiโ€™s 2020 Expo trade fair.

Emaar chairman Mohamed Alabbar hasnโ€™t revealed the height of the skyscraper but said it will be an โ€œelegant monumentโ€ for the city.

According to various media reports, the tower will be designed by Spanish-Swiss architect Santiago Calatrava Valls.
