Inspired by the nature of iconic Battersea Park, developer Avanton has launched a new show apartment at Coda in Battersea, the £260m (GDV) mixed-use development on York Road, ahead of the landmark building’s upcoming completion.

Set to complete this Autumn, Coda provides 130 private sale apartments in a 90 metres tall tower on a podium level above the new headquarters for the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) on the ground floor. Residents have access to luxury amenities including a 24 hour concierge, gym, hotel-style foyer, club lounge, gymnasium and landscaped courtyard gardens, with architecture by multi-award-winning practice Patel Taylor.

Embracing the colours and textures of nearby Battersea Park, the new show apartment is designed by specialists JMI Studio. The two bedroom apartment is located on the 11th floor and offers fantastic views over the River Thames and a glimpse into the lifestyle on offer at this sought-after development.

Throughout the show apartment, JMI Studio have used a colour palette of earth tones such as chestnut brown, dove grey and steel blue, and textures such as velvet and linen, with highlights of brass which is Coda’s signature style.  The nature influences are subtle and balanced, with Coda the first Battersea project for the Studio.

The warm, open-plan Poggenpohl designer kitchen has Corian worktops and integrated Siemens appliances opening onto a living area with feature wallpaper with a golden leaf print, with pops of greenery throughout from chic house plants. The dining area has velvet chairs from designer brand Eichholtz, with a statement burnt-orange armchair beside the double door which opens onto the private balcony.

The Principal bedroom suite has a stylish textured wallpaper which evokes tree-bark, with solid wood and brass bedside tables, all finished in shades of dove grey. In every Coda apartment, there are integrated Poliform wardrobes and en suite bathroom. The second bedroom is styled with chic neutral tones with highlights of steel blue, with a door leading onto the balcony.

Coda is located a short walk from Battersea Park, a Grade II Listed park of 200-acres providing a tranquil oasis. There is extensive space for walks, jogging, picnics and relaxing, with outdoor yoga classes and refreshments available, as well as a boating lake, Peace Pagoda and a small children’s zoo. Avanton highlight that the development’s proximity to the park, less than 20 minutes walk, is appealing to buyers who want to exercise or enjoy a family day out.

Coda is set to complete this Autumn, with first residents due to move in. Since the initial launch off-plan, the development has proven very popular, with Coda the best-selling scheme in South West London this year.

David Ronson, Sales & Marketing Director at Avanton said, “At Avanton we are delighted that our flagship development Coda is set to complete this Autumn and the first residents can move in soon to enjoy the high-quality lifestyle on offer. Coda has proven very popular, especially with local domestic buyers who love the Battersea area and want to be well-located for enjoying the neighbourhood. The new show apartment by JMI Studio evokes the nature of local Battersea Park whilst staying very on-trend and appealing to our buyer demographic.”

Juliana Ardenius, Founder & CEO of JMI Studio added, “As the first Battersea project for JMI Studio, we wanted to embrace the vibrant community and design a home that reflects the young, trendy demographic of buyers choosing to live here. We drew on inspiration from local Battersea Park and brought in subtle tones and textures evoking nature throughout the home. Coda offers an exceptional calibre of living and it was a delight to help showcase the lifestyle on offer.”

Founded three years ago by Swedish-born Juliana Ardenius, JMI Group specialises in bespoke furniture packages for new-build developments and has quickly become the go-to interior designer amongst London’s top developers.

Coda is designed as a new landmark building for the Battersea skyline, with the floors of the central tower arranged as a series of folding terraces rising skywards. Coda is situated on York Road, part of the ongoing ribbon of regeneration along the River Thames in Battersea including Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms. The scheme offers residents easy access to local independent restaurants, bars and boutique shops in Battersea, Clapham and Wandsworth.

The new show apartment at Coda is available to view by appointment only. Prices at Coda for a one bedroom apartment from £595,000, for a two bedroom apartment from £750,000, and for a three bedroom apartment from £1,450,000.
