Countrywide and LSL in merger talks

There have been reports that the UK’s largest estate agent groups, Countrywide and LSL Property Services, have been in talks over a proposed merger.

The former has now released a statement saying: “Discussions between Countrywide and LSL are ongoing. At this stage, there can be no certainty that any offer will ultimately be made for Countrywide.

“A further announcement will be made when appropriate.”

A merger would bring together Countrywide’s brands, including Bairstow Eves, Hamptons International and Gascoigne-Pees.
