Construction work is progressing on a new homes development in Hook which will bring an investment of £750,000 to the local area.

Bellway is building 102 new apartments at Bartley Square, off Station Road, with the first plots and a sales office both due to open on site in the autumn.

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Bellway will make a secondary education contribution of £150,000 which will go towards the provision of additional playing fields at Robert May’s School in Odiham.

The developer will also provide a total of £600,000 to Hook Parish Council for the maintenance, improvement and management of a suitable alternative natural greenspace (SANG) at Bassetts Mead.

Greg Allsop, head of sales and marketing for Bellway North London said, “It is great to see construction work progressing at Bartley Square, a development which will provide much-needed one and two-bedroom homes for the area.

“We have worked closely with the local planning authority to ensure the new homes meets the needs of local buyers and we are also proud to be funding the provision of greenspace and playing fields for the benefit of new and existing residents.

“The development’s location, just a short walk from Hook railway station, will appeal to professionals working locally and those commuting to London, and we are expecting a high level of interest in the new apartments when they are released for sale in the summer.”
