Strong demand from UK nationals considering relocating to Portugal continues into 2026 as the Moving to Portugal Show returns to London on the 26th of March.

Interest remains consistent, reflecting the sustained momentum seen throughout the past year and reinforcing that relocation to Portugal is a structured, long-term decision rather than a short-term trend.

This yearโ€™s event takes place at an important moment for Portugal. With a new centre-left Portuguese President, Antรณnio Josรฉ Seguro, having recently assumed office, prospective movers are seeking clarity around policy direction, regulatory stability and the wider economic landscape as they plan their next steps.

Christina Hippisley, General Manager of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in the UK, said:

โ€œPeriods of political change naturally lead to questions. For anyone considering relocation, the priority is understanding how a change of emphasis may affect visas, taxation and residency frameworks. Our role is to provide accurate, impartial guidance so individuals and families can make informed decisions with confidence. Moving to Portugal is often more straightforward than people expect. The key is having the correct information from the outset. Visas, taxation, banking and property acquisition are entirely manageable when structured properly. When those foundations are addressed carefully at the beginning, the relocation process becomes significantly smoother.โ€

The profile of attendees at the show reflects a broadening and maturing market. Once focused mainly on retirement, many visitors are now younger families and mid career professionals exploring permanent relocation.

โ€œAt our London show in Spring 2025, 17.9 per cent of attendees were aged between 20 and 39, with the majority in the 40 to 59 age bracket,โ€ Hippisley explained. โ€œWe are seeing increasing enquiries about education, healthcare access, tax clarity and cross border income structuring. Remote and hybrid working have fundamentally changed how people assess their options.โ€

This shift in demographics and priorities has directly shaped the showโ€™s 2026 seminar programme.

โ€œThe programme has been developed in response to the actual questions we get asked every day,โ€ Hippisley added. โ€œIt provides structured sessions covering visas, taxation, legal considerations, banking, property, healthcare and education. Our objective is to equip attendees with a clear roadmap and the confidence to move from consideration to action.โ€

The full seminar programme has now been released and can be viewed at:ย https://MTP-London-2026.eventbrite.co.uk
