London property is worth £1 trillion

London property is worth a whopping £1 trillion in total, according to new research by Primelocation.com. But it’s pipped to the title of richest region by the South East, where property stacks up to some £1.6 trillion.

Surrey is the richest county in property terms, with houses worth on average more than £255,000 per head and in total adding up to £288 billion.

The total value of property in the UK is £5.6 trillion, the research reckons.

5. West Midlands: £367 billion

6. East Midlands: £336 billion

7. Scotland: £322 billion

8. Yorkshire & Humberside: £300 billion

10. Wales: £223 billion

11. North East: £163 billion

Top 10 property wealth by county:

1. Surrey – £287.6 billion total property value, £255,125 per head

2. Dorset – £83.8 billion total property value, £207,220 per head

3. Buckinghamshire – £98.8 billion, £198,490

4. East Sussex – £196,300, £101.2 billion

5. Essex – £252.4 billion, £178,705

6. Hertfordshire – £194.3 billion, £175,492

7. Devon – £121.3 billion, £161,817
