A £50m dilapidated Mayfair mansion needing a £20m makeover is up for sale.

The Grade II listed home at 39 Charles Street has planning consent for 22,000 sqft of accommodation.

Listed with luxury property agent Wetherell, the house is estimated to fetch £100m once renovated.

Once converted the home would boast eight state rooms, seven palatial bedroom suites, private health and leisure complex with gymnasium, swimming pool, spa, beauty salon, private hairdressing salon, and private cinema.

Wetherell MD Peter Wetherell says the home is likely to be bought by one of London’s super-rich tycoons.

“Everybody knows each other, and as they also do with their mega-yachts, the competition and rivalry to create the world’s best trophy houses is immense,” he said.
