Chestertons enjoys record month and record Q3

Chestertons, one of the largest agents in London, has taken advantage of a busy summer market to post a second consecutive record month for revenues, making September 2019 its best ever month. The record September also helped the company achieve its best-ever Q3 results, up 11% on the same period last year.

Despite continued low sales volumes across the capital, company revenues were boosted by a continued growth in market share and by especially strong performances from its central London sales offices and its lettings division, which enjoyed its biggest month and quarter ever in terms of tenancies agreed and revenue.

Commenting on these results nearly 18 months after taking the reins at Chestertons, Managing Director Guy Gittins said, “Our sales team are working harder than ever to put deals together and progress them through to completion and this hard work is reflected in these latest results, which everyone single person at Chestertons should be immensely proud of.

“Our sales figures show that while there are of course people hesitating and taking a ‘wait-and-see’ approach to Brexit, there are also plenty who are not willing or cannot afford to put their lives on hold and are prepared to commit to purchases when the asking price is right.”

Chestertons long-standing Head of Lettings, Richard Davies, comments on his division’s success,  “The summer is always the busiest time for lettings in London but this year has been more intense than ever as a shortage of rental properties across popular areas of London has created an ultra-competitive environment for tenants.

“We continue to increase our market share across London and have agreed a record number of tenancies in Q3 compared to former years, which has been achieved by our growing workforce and improvements in our processes and internal tech systems.”
