Matt White, webmaster for BingoWebsites.org.uk said, “With Valentine’s Day coming up, it’s fun to see how the UK celebrates romance even in its street names. ‘Rose’ is by far the most popular, appearing in over 250 streets, but names like Love Lane, Dove Close and Valentine Road also feature widely, adding a little extra charm to towns and cities.

“There are also some unusual finds further down the list. Streets like Turtle Dove Close, Cupid Drive and Bleeding Heart Yard show just how varied romantic street names can be. The only street with the word ‘Date’ in it is Date Street in Southwark, London.

“Streets with ‘Rose’ are found all over the UK, but more often in rural counties and smaller towns, while ‘Love’ and ‘Dove’ are more common in urban areas like London, West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.

“Whether subtle or sweet, love has left its mark on streets everywhere. Are you on one of them?”
