Leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España has announced it will be investing €77 million in an extensive new development in Torrevieja.

Built in five phases, the development – Eden Beach – will consists of 332 homes just 700m from the stunning golden sands of La Mata beach.

Many of the homes will provide sea views from their large terraces, while residents will also enjoy the use of communal pools and gardens.

Torrevieja is known for its international appeal, value for money, sparkling sea and glorious sunshine. The Costa Blanca town is particularly popular with buyers from the UK and Scandinavian countries, as well as with domestic Spanish buyers. The same is true of the wider Alicante region, where 44% of home sales were to foreign buyers in 2023, according to figures from Spain’s Colegio Registradores.

Construction of the first phase of 50 homes at Eden Beach has already begun, with an anticipated delivery date of April 2025. The properties will include two-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom penthouses with impressive solariums and ground floor apartments with private gardens. Prices will start from €255,000 plus VAT for apartments and from €528,000 plus VAT for penthouses. In line with Taylor Wimpey España’s strong commitment to sustainability, all properties will achieve an energy certification of ‘A’.

In addition to providing easy access to the beach at La Mata and to a wide range of local cafes and restaurants, the homes of Eden Beach have the Torremarina shopping centre, a Mercadona supermarket, a pharmacy, a bank, a veterinary centre and more nearby. They are also just a 20-minute stroll (or two-minute car ride) from Torrevieja’s Aromatic Park – a 70,000 square metre patch of serenity in the midst of the town, designed by Catalan architect Carmen Pinós. The air in the park is heavy with the scent of lavender, thyme, rosemary, orange blossom and basil, along with a multitude of other plants and shrubs all chosen for their delightful aromas.

“Eden Beach is located in a popular residential area of Torrevieja, providing second home buyers with all the conveniences needed for stress-free holidays. The location also makes Eden Beach an excellent choice for those seeking a permanent residence in Torrevieja, as many Britons look to the town to find an affordable, high-quality retirement property in the sunshine,” said, Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director, Taylor Wimpey España

Taylor Wimpey España has already opened a show home and sales office for Eden Beach, where anyone interested can find out more about the major new development.

The investment in the 332 Torrevieja homes comes at a time when Spanish coastal areas are proving their mettle in investment terms. The latest figures from real estate valuation firm Tinsa show that house prices along Spain’s Mediterranean Coast increased by 6.5% year-on-year in March, compared to a country-wide increase of 3.4%. The only area showing a greater increase was the Balearic Islands, at 8.2%.
