Where can you find the smartest working areas in the capital?
You are where you work. Whether you want to or not, your office is where you spend most your weekday, possibly most of your adult life.
Getting the environment just right therefore is critical. It can help your employees to work harder, stay longer and break a sweat proving that they deserve to be there.
Get it wrong, however, and you may soon be driving people into despair or out of the door.
While London is littered with some pretty spectacular workplaces, and some far less stunning cupboard/office hybrids, four London offices have now taken the official crown.
According to the annual British Council for Offices (BCO) official London and the Southeast awards, London excelled in virtually every office-related respect, topping four of the five office categories.
1. Refurbished/Recycled Workplace:123 Victoria Street, London
2. Projects up to 2,000m²: Fifty Grosvenor Hill, London
3. Fit Out of Workplace: Astellas, 2000 Hillswood Drive, Chertsey
4. Commercial Workplace: Cannon Place, 78 Cannon Street, London
5. Corporate Workplace: One Sixty, Great Portland Street, London
It is easy to see why. The 123 Victoria Street £150m redevelopment has captured the perfect balance of classic and modern, offering stunning communal outdoor space, perfect for al fresco dining in the sunshine.
Meanwhile, the mean, sharp edged, futurist design which dominates One Sixty Great Portland St, made the ideal Corporate Workspace, the BCO said.
