One of the UK’s most sustainable residential developments, New Town in Ashford, Kent, has now fully sold, with all available apartments secured by discerning purchasers in less than 12 weeks.

Leading International Off-Plan Property Consultancy LH1 London, were appointed by developer Pascoe Homes to lead the sales and marketing of the development, with the campaign focusing on the impressive design, eco-friendly features and low carbon footprint, as well as excellent location across from Ashford International station, which provides short travel times into London and across to Europe.

New Town has been designed with the future in mind, with apartment layouts and features that provide comfortable living spaces and sustainable features that reduce living costs and lessens the impact on the environment.

Pascoe Homes’ design of the development followed the Helical Piling method, which ensures a design life of 75-years compared to the industry average 25-years produced by traditional methods.

The ultra-sustainable model uses 100% recycled steel, which is infinitely recyclable, with a sustainable steel bial foundation system that ensures the ground is protected and doesn’t contaminate the land with acidic content.

The core structure and exterior of each building is produced using recycled materials and are engineered to last for over 200 years. Over 80% of each building will be recyclable at the end of its life.

Internally, the homes are finished to a high-quality specification perfectly suited to modern day living, whilst including market-leading sustainable features. All windows are triple glazed assuring U-value for energy saving potential, which will provide long-term savings on energy bills.

Each apartment also benefits from an Infra-Red heating system, which is powered by electric rather than fossil fuels and includes a smart management system to ensure owners can tailor their energy use whilst also reducing their carbon footprint.

Every home at New Town includes bespoke Planet2050 Paula Rosa Manhattan kitchens, which feature raw materials and kitchen components that are legally and sustainably sourced. The ultra-sustainable kitchens have been created to assist the housing construction industry’s Climate Change Act ‘2008 environmental targets’.

Additionally, each building includes ‘smart lifts’ with a unique energy saving system that uses 75% of the normal energy for standardised lift systems. The external communal areas are professionally landscaped and feature green and nature zones to positively impact the natural environment. The development also includes a secure dedicated internal bike rack facility and electric charging points to encourage residents to opt for greener transport.

Rayna Hunter, Managing Director & Head of Global Sales at LH1 London, told LondonLovesProperty.com, “We are thrilled with the finish of the scheme that Pascoe Homes have delivered above and beyond to present a scheme which is as environmentally friendly as it possibly could be. This approach has resulted in the development being one of our most successful, with the apartments proving popular with a mix of buyers.

“Sustainability is becoming an important factor to buyers, so New Town ticked every box, whilst its location close to Ashford International station made it incredibly attractive to domestic end users, further influenced by the availability of Help to Buy, and investors that could spot the major potential value growth.”

The development was positioned by LH1 London as a secure investment opportunity, with excellent value growth potential. Following extensive regeneration of the area, which has seen the creation of over 2,000 new jobs, property values have risen significantly since the first apartments were sold.

Currently, the average rental price for a one-bedroom apartment in Ashford average £900 per calendar month (pcm) and two-bedroom apartments averaging £1,150 pcm. Homes at New Town are exceeding these levels and setting records for the area, with one-bedroom homes achieving £1,000 pcm and two-bedrooms £1,300 pcm.

New Town benefits from a prominent position in Ashford and is within walking distance of Ashford International Studios, home to Netflix, and the Ashford Designer Outlet. The town centre is moments away, with a collection of trendy bars, restaurants and boutique shops for residents to enjoy. Ashford International Station is close by and provides direct trains into London, with a typical travel time of 40-minutes, whilst also providing connections into central Europe.
