The lettings department of leading independent estate agent, Russell Simpson has reported the busiest start to the year in recent years, with January activity four times that of 2018. The agency’s success has been bolstered by strong repeat business and the ability to deliver a truly personalised customer experience, allowing them to achieve growth in the light of Brexit.

The family-run agency, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, has enjoyed record breaking growth of rental instructions over the past two years, enjoying success in their home patch of Chelsea, across to Belgravia, South Kensington, Mayfair, Marylebone, Bloomsbury and Covent Garden. The rental team has recently added another string to its bow, with the appointment of dedicated Property Management specialist, Annabelle Routledge to cement their core value of five star customer service even in such an active market.

Charlie Woods, Head of Lettings at Russell Simpson, comments; “We are thrilled to have had such busy start to the year, especially considering the current climate and with Brexit looming. We have been lucky enough to agree more four times more deals in January and December than the previous year and twice more in November and October.

“Our honest and friendly-family style means we have a close and often long-term relationship with our clients, always offering the best advice to maximize the potential of their property. This is reflective of our strong return business from clients, who enjoy our ‘outside the box’ approach.”

Russell Simpson has seen the rental market for houses go from strength to strength in recent months, with the calibre of stock higher than ever.

Woods added, “Our core market of one and two bedroom flats is still steady, but the demand for larger family homes has really taken off. The driver behind this is two-fold. Firstly, many vendors are becoming more accustomed to renting and are happy take a tenancy for one or two years whilst the political dust settles. Said vendors are then carrying out any necessary works on their own properties, meaning the quality of stock available is better than ever.”

“There is also the reality that life changes constantly, so families may suddenly need to move to be near a particular school or university and don’t have the option of waiting until after Brexit. They appreciate being able to find a rental home of a superior quality that suits those needs and gives them that flexibility that purchasing doesn’t.”

As an independent estate agency, Russell Simpson Lettings enjoy a strong relationship with their Sales department, often working collaboratively to find the best solution for their clients. This is invaluable in a testing market, where the correct advice is key and we often offer to value current sales instructions and vice-a-versa.

Russell Simpson is currently letting a newly refurbished, four-bedroom house on the King’s Road for £3,750 per week. Available immediately, the property benefits from a large roof terrace, air-conditioning and secure underground parking.
