The average asking price of a home in London now stands at £552,530, an all-time high, according to Rightmove’s data.
That’s up 2.1% just since February. The annual asking price growth has been more than 11%.
Across the UK as a whole, house asking prices also hit a record high, growing 1.6% since February to reach £255,962.
“Spring is in the air and the country is finally on the move,” said Rightmove director Miles Shipside.
“The mass property market is starting to unlock after years of being handcuffed by fragile consumer confidence and a lack of low-deposit mortgages.”
