Adele splashes £600k on Notting Hill pad for her mum

Multi Grammy Award-winner and Bond singer Adele has reportedly splashed £600,000 on a Notting Hill flat for her mother.

Adele’s 44-year-old mother Penny Adkins, raised the British singer famed for tracks like Rolling in the Deep, as a lone parent. She is said to have worked two jobs to support her daughter and allow her to pursue her passion.

Their old family flat, above a discount store called This That and the Other, in West Norwood, has been pictured extensively in the press to demonstrate the rags to riches story.

New mum Adele, who gave birth to her first son in October last year, now lives in a 10-bedroom luxury estate in Hertfordshire.

The singer is estimated to have a net worth of $35m (£22m) but as a rising star, her treasure chest is only expected to keep growing. Adele’s musical work for the Bond movie Skyfall is nominated for an Oscar and the London singer will be performing at the ceremony later this month to mark her comeback following maternity leave.
