Landlords will receive greater recognition for their delivery of service to tenants as Spotahome adds new functionality ‘to provide greater transparency and build trust in the rental market’.

The property tech start-up has reviewed the customer journey and key friction points in the booking process to introduce a number of new features and initiatives to enable landlords to secure long-term property rentals through its online booking platform.

Top Landlord was launched in London to recognise landlords providing exceptional experiences for tenants to give greater confidence in long-term residential rental bookings. The initiative measures landlords on their booking acceptance rates, rental prices, low cancellations, low complaints, quick replies, and those listers with a high percentage of verified units of great value. Spotahome provides guidance on how to optimise the performance of their listing towards Top Landlord status.

James Kirimy, who was recently appointed Spotahome’s General Manager for UK and Ireland said, “With tenants looking at more than just location and rental prices today, we need to introduce additional insights on the property and landlord to make their decisions more informed.

“Landlords with Top Landlord status will be recognised as true Spotahome partners rewarded with greater visibility, increased rental guarantees and dedicated customer support to help them secure tenants.”

In addition, the PropTech company released its “Rent Calculator” tool for Landlords to compare property rental prices with other listings receiving bookings across the Spotahome platform. Landlords can use the Rent Calculator to set an accurate and fair market rental rate for tenants. This comes alongside the “Self-listing” feature for property managers to list properties themselves that will be verified by Homecheckers at a later stage.

Landlords also have greater access to listing performance through the property dashboard providing statistics where landlords can track visits and users adding them as favourites. Spotahome is working hard and fast at delivering digital change to the property rental sector, and following the opening of its London office earlier this year the company has announced the formation of its local office for UK and Ireland headed by James Kirimy, General Manager.

“The property rental market needs to embrace digital transformation as many renters demand a better level of service and a more open, honest and accessible way of finding properties.” said Kirimy.

“Plus with increased scrutiny of landlords and lettings agencies by both regulatory authorities and tenants, as well as the expectations to deliver a faster, more seamless experience – technology is helping to ease many of these challenges.”
