eXp Korea‘s latest analysis of the real estate market shows that the housing market in South Korea is attracting both buyers and sellers, with real estate agents, listings, and home-buying-related search activity all increasing over the past six months.
eXp Korea’s study analysed Google search trends data to examine the changes in search volume among home buyers and sellers over the past 6 months (July 2025 ~ January 2026) compared to the previous 6 months (January 2025 ~ June 2025).
The survey shows an increase in seller activity, with search intensity for “real estate agents” rising 31.5% over the past six months compared to the previous six months, suggesting that more homeowners are looking to list their homes.
However, buyer demand has strengthened much more. Search interest in ‘buying real estate’ has surged by 349.6% over the past six months compared to the previous six months, and searches for ‘real estate for sale’ have also surged by 272.8%.
This trend suggests that buyer demand is accelerating much faster than seller activity, creating favourable conditions for South Korean homeowners looking to secure buyers, as a competitive pool of buyers creates a structure for competing for listings.
eXp Korea’s CEO Thomas Kim, said:”While a lot of attention in the real estate market tends to focus on key metrics like home prices and transaction volume, it’s often early indicators like search behaviour that give the clearest indication of changing market sentiment.
Our latest research shows that homebuyer activity has increased significantly over the past six months, far outpacing the growth rate of seller searches and suggesting that demand is strengthening across the market.
For both real estate agents and homeowners, these upfront insights are invaluable. This is because the market environment is improving favourably for sellers, suggesting that they are more likely to attract buyers with a strong willingness to buy.
