London tech darling Moo, which makes the funky business cards wielded by every media and tech bod worth their salt in the capital, is opening its first retail unit today. The shop will be in Shoreditch (of course).

The shop will let customers create and customer business stationery products, and let them design products online then pick them up in-store. Moo says that in the evenings the Moo Shop will host events for small businesses, creative professionals, start-ups, entrepreneurs and freelancers, “with inspirational speakers on hand each week to advise, encourage and share experiences on a range of topics, from design to funding”.

The business stationery company, headed up by Richard Moross, ranked seventh in our index of London’s fastest-growing private companies in 2011. It makes a range of customisable stationery, and its half-height Moo cards, which feature an array of photos or images on the back, made business cards cool in the capital.

Richard Moross, CEO and Founder of MOO, explains: “Personal branding and beautiful design is so important to our customers that we wanted them to be able to actually touch and experience it – the MOO Shop is the perfect way for them to interact with our products and experience first-hand what they see online.  MOO is constantly innovating and looking for new ways to excite our customers and this mix of online and offline is the perfect combination.”
