Homes in Kensington & Chelsea cost £10,854 PER SQUARE METRE to buy

The UK’s most expensive area to buy property is Kensington & Chelsea, where you pay an average of £10,854 per sq metre, a study has found.

Unsurprisingly, the area also has the highest house prices in the UK at an average of £857,225.

The study, by Halifax, also found the top 20 most expensive areas of Britain were all in London, and the 48 most expensive are all in London and the South East.
