But you can check-in only in 2019
If you didnโt get your hands on one of the flats in the ยฃ8bn Battersea Power Station, fret not, because come 2019 you can do the next best thing to owning a home there – you can stay in a luxury hotel in the vicinity.
Battersea Power Station Development Company has signed on luxury hotel company artโotel to launch a 160-room luxury hotel with an air infinity pool and a rooftop restaurant looking over Battersea Power Stationโs iconic chimneys.
The hotel is being developed by Battersea Power Station Development Company (BPDC) and is going to be managed by PPHE Hotel Group, owner of artโotel.
The garden of the new hotel has been designed by the team behind New Yorkโs High Line – a long, narrow park in central New York which used to be a rail line.
According to BPDC, โguests will be welcomed by a public gallery; a multi-purpose creative space offering a rotating calendar of exhibitions, as well as cultural and artistic events supporting established and up-and-coming artists alikeโ.
The hotel also promises โcaptivating artโ by a โan acclaimed local or national artistโ.
Rob Tincknell, CEO of Battersea Power Station Development Company, said: ย
โWe are incredibly excited to be announcing this important transaction and for it to be with such an innovative hotel company.
โThe selection process to find the right brand and operator was a very competitive and thorough one, involving the leading hotel brands from around the world. artโotel was a standout winner, a brand unlike anything we have seen in London to date, and it is particularly fitting for it to have art at the very heart of the brand and the hotel itself. I am confident that together with artโotel we will deliver a beyond expectations hotel.โ
