London will get its first designer outlet village this autumn. The London Designer Outlet will open this autumn near Wembley Stadium and will be the only designer outlet inside the M25.
It will be a 350,000-square-foot site that will have 70 retail units and 15 restaurants once completed. Developers Quantain have said it is already 70% let, with companies that have signed up already including Nike, Adidas, Gap and Superdry.
The London Designer Outlet is 10 miles out from the centre of London, but Quantain seems confident it will pick up attention from some of the four million visitors to Wembley Stadium each year, and because it will be London’s only designer outlet.
James Saunders, chief operating officer at Quantain, said: “London has plenty of standard shopping centres. We are three miles from Brent Cross and five miles from Westfield. It didn’t need another standard shopping centre. […]
“We are introducing quality brands that Wembley hasn’t had,” he added, saying he believed the London Designer Outlet would boast the best range of sports shops in the UK, as well as a Cineworld cinema.
